Carols was a visiting student, supported by UCAR SOARS program in summer of 2014. His project was on North Atlantic Atmospheric Blocking and Atlantic Multi-decadal Oscillation in CESM1 Large Ensemble Simulations. He contributed to a publication; Kwon et al. 2018. After WHOI, he moved on to Columbia University for his Ph.D.
