Dr. Alli Ho is a physical oceanographer specializing in wind–wave and wave–current interactions in dynamic environments, including extreme storms and complex coastal regions. She earned her Ph.D. in Oceanography from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and joins us from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (NASA), where she worked on the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission to advance high-resolution observations of ocean waves and air–sea interactions. At UH Mānoa, Dr. Ho contributes to the ONR-funded SAFARI project, focusing on how wave–wind–current interactions modulate air–sea fluxes under atmospheric rivers. Her work integrates satellite, in situ, and theoretical approaches to resolve sea-state-dependent coupling in extreme conditions.
